In this blog post, I am going to cover 5 of the most popular budgeting methods. The cool thing about budgeting is that you have options. You can try one out and if it isn’t a good fit, pick another one that will work better for your life. Budgeting is important so that you keep track of where your money is going. Don’t let your money disappear like your socks in the dryer.

I used to cringe when I heard the term, “Budget”. But then life smacked me right in the face in 2020. Not directly because of Covid, well, technically part of it was because of the pandemic, but long story short, we had an emergency arise in our family, my husband had to have emergency back surgery and I was furloughed from my nursing job for 4 weeks, basically laid off. My husband is a Farmer, and in April/May we needed to plant our farm crops of corn and soybeans.

You want to have a savings account beefed up with money in it to save and use for when an emergency happens, not if but when. This money will save you from going into debt when an emergency arises, like an emergency room visit for a broken arm, or a gallbladder surgery, or a car accident. Don’t get caught off-guard with no savings.

What does it look like? What does it feel like? What have you accomplished? Have you left your current job? Has your family size changed? Are you going on an annual family vacation? Creating a strategy, plan, and budget for your goals and dreams is important.
